NIS America has revealed it will be releasing the original Utawarerumono outside of Japan. In early 2020, people will be able to get Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. It will be available both digitally and physically on the console, while the handheld version will be a PlayStation Store exclusive.
Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is a strategic RPG with visual novel elements. Players follow Hakuoro, an amnesiac man, who awakens in an unfamiliar village. He is taken in and cared for as one of their own. But, a peaceful life isn’t in the cards, as an oppressive emperor is unjustly treating the people of the town, and it falls to Hakuoro and his new friends to fight back for their sake. The events of this game precede those of Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception and Mask of Truth.
A special Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen Origins Edition has been revealed for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. This is a launch day edition of the game. It will include an Archives of Yamayura art book, Hymns for the Fallen soundtrack CD, and a physical copy of the game.
