Disgaea 5 Complete just made its PC debut on October 22, 2018, but it is missing features present even in the original Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. NIS America issued a blog update stating that the network functionality, which would allow people to exchange information and data with other people who also own the game, are not present in Disgaea 5 Complete.
In the original versions of Disgaea 5 on consoles, people could share things with others online. The Map Edit Shop and its NPC would allow you to create custom maps, which could then be shared with other people online. Similarly, the Netherworld Edit Shop would allow you to make maps your base and share it with others. It was also possible to use “Spread News to Everyone!” to share news online with people via the game or “Give Item to a Friend!” to send an items to another Disgaea 5 player online.
Here is NIS America’s official statement on the network functionality removal from Disgaea 5 Complete PC:
Due to irreconcilable platform differences, it was decided in the beginning of development for Disgaea 5 Complete that the Network functions from the original game could not be implemented into the Steam version. We deeply apologize that these differences were not communicated in advance, and we appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter. We would like to remind all users that Steam purchases come with a option to fully refund the purchase if total playtime has not exceeded 2 hours.
