The spotlight on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Smash Blog was arguably more focused on introducing stages and items this week, although Lucario and Shiek got a short highlight. Stage-wise, we got more info on the returning stages Brinstar and Saffron City.
#41 Lucario
Lucario is the only fighter whose attack power increases as it takes damage. A fighter that truly shines when in a pinch, choose Lucario for a thrilling battle.
#16 Shiek
Now Sheik joins the battle wearing the Sheikah costume from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Keep the pressure on your opponent by using his speedy dash to quickly close in on (or get away from) your opponent!
Kapp’n – New Assist Trophy
When Kapp’n takes the stage he hops on a bus and drives around the stage. Careful! When he hits a fighter, he’ll carry them off of the stage in his bus!!
Death’s Scythe – New Item
You can KO highly damaged opponents with a well placed smash attack from this scythe. A black aura will surround your oppponent right before you attack, signaling an instant KO!!
Brinstar – Returning Stage
This stage is an underground cavern on Planet Zebes, where the Metroid Series takes place. Although the rising and falling acid at the bottom of the stage can deal severe damage, touching it when you’re falling off the stage can actually help you recover!
Saffron City – Returning Stage
A stage based on Saffron City from Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue. Pokémon appear from the doorway of the building at the center of the stage. Watch out for when Electrode appears!
Afternoon on the Island – New Arrangement
You can now listen to “Afternoon on the Island” from Tomodachi Life. Does it remind you of carefree island life? Or the various confessions of love you recieved there? Enjoy Masafumi Takada’s arrangement.
Arrangement supervisor: Masafumi Takada (known for work on Danganronpa series, Earth Defense Force series, God Hand, No More Heroes, and killer7)
