Monster Hunter: World Leads Capcom’s Net Sales Increase In Fiscal Year 2018

Monster Hunter: World was Capcom’s strongest-selling game in Fiscal Year 2018, leading to a year-over-year 8.4% net sales increase. Other hit games included Monster Hunter XX for Nintendo Switch and Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers.

 

Net sales increased to 94,515 million yen (up 8.4% year-over-year), operating income increased to 16,037 million yen (up 17.5 % year-over-year), ordinary income increased to 15,254 million yen (up 21.2 % year-over-year), and net income attributable to owners of the parent increased to 10,937 million yen (up 23.2 % year-over-year).

 

Capcom’s Digital Contents business also did well and increased in sales and profit growth, and Capcom plans to strengthen digital download sales, increase the pipeline of major title releases, and focus on esports, to further grow the Digital Contents business.

 

Other details:

  • Capcom forecasts that they will have net sales of 96,000 million yen by next fiscal year.
  • Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite didn’t do very well in the US and EU regions.
  • The net sales for Digital Contents were 74,141 million yen (up 26.3 % from the previous fiscal year) and operating income was 19,103 million yen (up 72.2 % from the previous fiscal year).
