Nippon Ichi announced Project Nightmare, a horror adventure game that uses live action footage.

Project Nightmare is Nippon Ichi’s first attempt at combining adventure gameplay with live action footage. The idea behind the game stems from recent 3D graphic advancements: “If you’re going to go this far, just use live action footage already.” Nippon Ichi aim to have this be a new type of ‘horror entertainment’ experience.

The footage is shot in Gifu Prefecture, where Nippon Ichi’s offices are located. Here is the teaser trailer:

Project Nightmare does not have a release date nor announced platforms at present.
