Players will meet many well-armed foes and durable, hostile machinery in Steampunk dungeon crawler Vaporum, but luckily, they will have a customizable exoskeleton they can tweak with buffs, weapons, and gadgets to help them deal with interference.
Players find themselves stranded on a small island in the middle of the ocean, a mechanical tower looming overhead. With no other way to go, players must move through it, dealing with the challenges within. As they do, they can unlock optional pieces of story through notes should they wish to know more about this strange place, or they can blast ahead and fight without any explanation.
Players move along Vaporum’s grid-based maps, encountering puzzles, enemies, and new gadgets and gear along the way. Should they encounter the game’s enemies, players will battle them in real-time combat using varied weapons and equipped gear. Each enemy has its own strengths and weaknesses, and players will need to learn these in order to exploit them using the right moves and equipment. These will all be attached to your exoskeleton, which can also be enhanced with stat-boosting parts and other useful add-ons.
Vaporum won’t just challenge players’ strength, but also their intellect, featuring stage-wide puzzles that add some variety to play. Players can also find hidden areas and secret gear buried in odd places throughout each stage, encouraging exploration.
