Happy Dungeons offers cute dungeon crawling action, with four players tackling a one-hundred floor catacomb either online or in split-screen with their custom-made fighters.
Monster bullies have kidnapped a princess in this kingdom in the sky, and being knights of the kingdom, it’s the players’ jobs to bring her back. Doing so can be done with three available classes, with warriors acting as durable front line fighters, clerics providing support through healing and protective magics (and a few monster-stomping spells), and mages providing long-range firepower with their own spells.
Players can customize their own little avatar with various looks and facial expressions, then layer them with over fifteen-hundred pieces of equipment that will change their appearance as well as their combat capabilities. These range from making players look tough to appearing a bit sillier, allowing players to appear however they like.
Happy Dungeons places an emphasis on cuteness, with many of its heroes and villains looking tiny and funny, although the game does promise some challenging moments. Players will need to work together to whittle down the game’s bosses no matter how goofy they look, as they are still capable of giving players a vicious beating.
Happy Dungeons is available for free on PS4 and Xbox One.
