The release date has been revealed for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of SteamWorld Dig 2 via the PlayStation Blog. People will be able to get the $19.99, cross-buy game on September 26, 2017. This means it will arrive on Sony platforms a few days after the Nintendo Switch release, which is set for September 21, 2017.

In addition to the release date, more SteamWorld Dig 2 details were discussed. Dorothy McCrank won’t be alone as she digs into the ground and looks for Rusty. She will also have allies who can actively and passively aid her adventure. She will also be getting new and different upgrades than the ones seen in the original game, due to her using a pickaxe, hookshot, and jet engine. Her world will be larger, taking 10 hours or more to complete, and will be set to a soundtrack composed by Niklas “El Huervo” Åkerblad.
