Nintendo has announced that they will be ending the original SplatNet service for Splatoon on the Wii U. The service will be ending on September 30th, but online multiplayer battles will still be available since this update only affects SplatNet.

In the message posted over on Splatoon’s official Tumblr page, Nintendo went on to say that they “sincerely thank all players for using this companion site for the original Splatoon game.”

Splatoon is available for the Wii U and its sequel, Splatoon 2, is available for the Nintendo Switch.
