Three of the five new releases during the week of March 8th – 14th were on the PSP. The highlight, of course, was Absolute Hero Modding Project, published by Nippon Ichi.
The other interesting release was RPG Maker DS, by Famitsu publisher Enterbrain, which got off to a rather unenthusiastic start at 23,766 units. Although, while it may not seem like much in comparison to some bigger releases, over 20,000 people that will presumably attempt to create their own RPGs is rather impressive, especially considering that one would need to work within the limitations of the DS.
The top-ten sales ranking for the week of March 8th – 14th is as follows. Supplementary numbers outside of the top-ten below, although, we ask readers to note that they’re approximations since they are sourced from a different tracker.

Just outside the top-ten were God Eater and Kenka Bancho 4: The One Year War at #11 and #12 respectively, both at around 20,000 units.
Meanwhile, .hack//Link managed to sell another 14,000 units in its second week. It should be interesting to see if, like in the case of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, a significant price-drop has any long-term bearing on //Link’s ability to stay on the chart in the weeks ahead. Of course, that also depends on how many units Namco can ship. Zelda was significantly overshipped to retailers, which is why it’s still selling a few thousand copies every week.
I feel especially bad for Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on PSP, which Capcom passed up for some reason. The game was published, instead, by Cyberfront and debuted at #28, just below Summon Night Granthese for the Playstation 2.
