Square Enix has shared the full patch notes for Final Fantasy XIV’s Stormblood expansion, detailing everything new that has been added to the game, including new areas, new jobs, main story quests, and boss fights. Below is a look at just a few of the features added to the game, as well as the game’s official launch trailer.
First off, new areas have been added, including Rhalgr’s Reach, Kugane, The Fringes, The Peaks, The Lochs, The Ruby Sea, Yanxia, and the Azim Steppe.
New city and field aetherytes have been added as well.
New main scenario quests have been added for the expansion.
New FATEs have been added to the game, as well as the chance to encounter a special enemy over the course of any FATE. Participating in a FATE during which a special enemy appears will give players the Twist of Fate status, regardless if the FATE was completed or not. Those under the effect of Twist of Fate will receive increased EXP for completing FATEs.
The new housing area, Shirogane, has been added.
The ability to swim in certain areas has been added, as well as the ability to dive once the appropriate conditions have been met. While diving, players will also be able to go spear fishing.
Two new jobs, Samurai and Red Mage, have been added with the release of Stormblood. Both are DPS classes and both are unlocked in Ul’dah.
New dungeons have been added to the game as well, and when completing a level 51 to 59 dungeon or a level 61 to 69 dungeon, players will always receive one piece of gear equippable by their current class or job.
New trials, Susano and Lakshmi, have been added.
The launch of Stormblood sees the addition of lots of new gear for each class.
New mounts have been added, as well as new minions.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for PC and PlayStation 4. The Stormblood expansion is currently in early access and will launch on June 20th.
