Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Takes #1 In UK Software Chart, First For Nintendo Since 2011

Nintendo released Mario Kart 8 Deluxe worldwide on Friday and it’s been enjoying success from reception and sales. It managed to chart at #1 in the UK, the first for Nintendo since 2011. [Thanks, gameindustry.biz]

The last time Nintendo saw a #1 in the UK charts was in 2011 with Pokémon White on Nintendo DS. It also happens to be the first Mario game to get the top since Mario Kart Wii back in 2008.

It’s also noted that Puyo Puyo Tetris placed #14 with the majority of sales coming from the Nintendo Switch version of the puzzler.
