Riptale will have players cleaving through enemies, cutting a bloody swath through a black and white world using precise, directed sword strikes.
Riptale does away with wildly swinging your weapon with repeated button presses, instead tasking players with making careful, directed attacks. Players can equip an attack to each of three gem slots, directing those slices at their enemies with lethal results. Each attack requires a moment to recharge, though, so should the player just start swinging, they’ll run out of strikes and leave themselves unable to fight back.
The game offers various attack gems to equip with various properties and styles, so players will be able to dictate how their combos work. These gems can be bought from shops throughout the game’s open world, giving them multiple opportunities to acquire new fighting moves.
Players should be able to tangle with the ancient dragons and cultists that fill the world of Riptale soon, as the game is set to release in first quarter of this year, according to its Greenlight campaign.
