The Nintendo Switch’s official release date was revealed yesterday as March 3rd, 2017, and details about the console’s online service have now been shared by Nintendo.

Subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online Service will get players the ability to play compatible co-op and competitive games online by signing in with their Nintendo Accounts. When the Nintendo Switch launches in March, the online multiplayer gaming will be free, but it’ll be a paid subscription once it launches in Fall 2017.

In addition to access to exclusive deals,  the online service offers a monthly game download that lets you download and play an NES or SNES game free for a month with newly-added online play.
