Back in 2014, Sega announced that a Sonic the Hedgehog movie was in the works. Now, more details are coming through about the iconic blue hedgehog’s full-length feature film, including the team of people working to create it.

The movie has been described as a “hybrid CG-animated/live action family film,” and will feature Tim Miller, who previously worked on Deadpool as a director, in the position of executive producer. Miller will be working alongside Patrick Casey and Josh Miller, creators of Golan the Instatiable, who will be writing the script. Producing the film will be Neal H. Moritz, who was involved in the Fast & Furious franchise. Meanwhile, Tim Miller’s Blur Studio collaborator Jeff Fowler will be directing.

“Jeff is an incredible director with strong story instincts,” Miller said of Fowler. “The world of Sonic presents the perfect opportunity for him to leverage his experience in animation to bring new dimension to this iconic character.”
