Lovecraft Tales offers an open-ended mystery and non-linear story for players to work through, tasking them with solving the game’s mysteries in whichever way they choose before death and insanity take them.
The adventure game has no set path through it, but through the items players find and the paths they take through the game, they will eventually be able to piece the events together for themselves. Along the way, they’ll have to deal with cults, cosmic horrors, and manage their own sanity and hunger if they want to stay alive. This is very important, as when the player dies, the story ends.
A pre-alpha is available from the game’s site. It explores some of the game’s initial areas, with the developer promising the final product will offer more diverse locations and different people to meet, both friendly and dangerous.
Lovecraft Tales is currently raising votes on Steam Greenlight.
