Roguelite Ruin of the Reckless is designed for fast-paced melee combat against crowds of enemies, having players decimate them with dual wielded weapons as they creep ever-higher up the game’s randomly-generated tower.
Players will find new weapons as they climb the tower, but with dashing being an important part of the fast-paced combat, players will also be able to find new styles of dash in the form of boots. Boots will let players leave a trail of damaging fire, dash farther, or chain dashes together.
Players will also find skill orbs, which can be consumed to give the player a new ability or be used as a powerful melee weapon. They will have access to magic through spellbooks as well, each of which has a set number of charges before it’s spent. They can be charged and levelled up for greater effect as well.
Players can also pick up cards on each run, and will keep these even after death. Cards will have dramatic effects on the game if the player chooses to activate one for their current run, doing things like adjusting difficulty level or making everything (including the player) die in one hit.
