Players can tackle Magnetta’s Mega Man-style gameplay across several modes, playing the sidescrolling shooter normally or on speed run, challenge, and glitch run modes to make play more interesting in various ways.
When the prince goes missing, Magnetta heads out to bring him back. Players can choose to tackle the game’s ten stages in any order they like, gaining new weapons and mobility powers with each beaten level that will let them better fight their enemies or gain access to secret areas.
Should players crave a higher difficulty, they can access the Challenge Mode, which will let them take on themed challenges that give players weapon requirements, time limits, or health limits. Should they want to go fast, the game’s Speed Run Mode will streamline this process, as the in-game shortcuts and fast routes have been designed with speedrunnners in mind.
Should players wish to experience the game glitching out like an old NES where “Everything looks like you’ve got a dirty cartridge”, they can access the game’s Glitch Mode. This mode purposely shuffles tilesets, scrambling levels like a malfunctioning NES would.
Magnetta is set to release this Summer, and is seeking votes on Steam Greenlight.
