In Japan, Pokemon Centers offer monthly Pikachus wearing different outfits and costumes. North America received one of these special plushes, Intern Pikachu, in September. Now, the Pokemon Center is stocking another entry in the Pikachu Celebrations line, Children’s Day Pikachu.

Children’s Day Pikachu was originally released in Japan in May, in honor of the May 5 holiday. Koinobori, carp wind socks, are displayed on this day and samurai dolls are displayed. To commemorate the occasion, this plush Pikachu is wearing what looks like an origami samurai helmet and holding a stick with two Magikarp-themed Koinobori.

The 7 and a half inch tall, $17.99 Children’s Day Pikachu is immediately available, as is Intern Pikachu. If the Pokemon Center is going in order, then the next Pikachu Celebrations plush should be one wearing a raincoat and carrying a fake umbrella, as that was the June Monthly Pikachu for Japan.
