Alientrap Games, the creator of Greek myth hack-‘n’-slasher Apotheon, has announced its next game. It’s to be a 2D roguelike shooter set in space called Cryptark and it’s currently available on Steam Early Access. It’ll also be coming to PlayStation 4.

Cryptark sees you playing as a heavily armed privateer who boards procedurally generated alien space-hulks to earn government contracts. “Each of the ancient derelicts is a hornet’s nest of cybernetic drones and security systems you must you must traverse,” reads the game’s description.

As you enter each ship, you’ll need to plan ahead, picking a plan of attack with the equipment and weapons (there are over 60, including frag-cannons, tractor-beams, flamethrowers, and nukes) you have to hand, aiming to destroy the central core. No matter how you do you’ll enter the leaderboard at the end to compare scores with other players.
