Underhero is an upcoming action-RPG that attempts to turn RPG conventions on their head. If you’ve recently played Undertale then you may see some resemblances here (both in the title and its goal).

However, Underhero plays rather differently to Undertale. In fact, its creators reckon it’s a love letter to Paper Mario. It’s a 2D side-scrolling RPG adventure with timing-based combat.

Underhero deviates from other RPGs right at its start. Within the first few minutes of the game the hero is killed with the evil minion that killed them taking their place.

If you want to try Underhero’s early demo out you can download it here. It’s also up on Steam Greenlight and currently has an Indiegogo campaign.
