Fans in Japan will soon get to learn more about Phoenix Wright’s ancestor when The Great Ace Attorney releases in a little over a week. Capcom shared the latest video for the game, which recaps some of its story and features.
The Great Ace Attorney’s story starts out with the sound of a gunshot, which lands Ryunosuke Naruhodo in trouble right off the bat, after he was wrongly accused of a crime that he did not commit, and will have to prove his innocence by himself, and with the help of his good friend Asougi.
In the second case, Ryunosuke finds himself in trouble once more, as he becomes a suspect in another incident during his voyage to England; however, this is where Ryunosuke and his partner Susato Mikotoba meet the famous Sherlock Holmes.
At first, Sherlock has no real interest in saving Ryunosuke, but he’s in it to find the truth for himself, after noticing the possibility that Ryunosuke is not guilty of the crime. From there, he’ll be around to help out with detective work in the game.
Once they arrive in London, Ryunosuke will experience his first trial in England, then gets requested by the Chief Justice Vortex to take on further trials, where he’ll meet another Japanese man who lives alone with a cat, and a rival prosecutor known as the “Death God” of The Old Bailey, the Central Criminal Court of England.
The video then showcases some of the new features like the “Joint Reasoning,” where Ryunosuke and Sherlock will put their wits together to solve cases. The “Closing Argument,” takes place in the courtroom, and it involves Ryunosuke finding a contradiction to completely change the tide of a trial when jurors go with the guilty verdict.
The Great Ace Attorney will release in Japan on July 9, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS.
