Atelier makers Gust and Keisuke Kikuchi, known for his work on Deception and Fatal Frame, are working together for an upcoming action RPG called Land of No Night. We now haveĀ details on the gameās story and a look at some of its friendly monsters.
Mankind has won a battle against the leader of monsters, known as the Lord of the Night.Ā However, uponĀ his defeat, the Lord of the Night’s blood spilled out, and this blood would later become the source of calamity.
Those that came into contact with theĀ blue blood turned into whatĀ is known as the āJayou,ā or Wicked Spirits, and have began to take away the world of night from people.
Ever since, mankind hasĀ carried out itsĀ activities while there is light shining acrossĀ the land.Ā Meanwhile,Ā the Wicked Spirits show up during the darkness, turning it into a sleepless āLand of No Nightā.
HavingĀ takenĀ in this blue blood, one girl is granted the powers of a curse called “Bloodsucker,” and she lives for those of the Land of No Night, fighting for aĀ girl who is to be a sacrifice toĀ the night.
The āLand of No Nightsā doesnāt exist on any maps. The story tells the tale of the life and fight, and the love of two girls, that have gone untold in the books of history. AĀ story based on true loveāsadder than anything, more beautiful than the moonāwill be told.
While the story of Land of No Night involves monsters that take the night away from people, there are demon subordinates known as the āServansā that will be there to help Arnath.
The Servans come in various types. For example, the Attacker Type Servans will take commands from Arnath and continuously attack the Wicked Spirits. Meanwhile, the Support Type Servans will be there for recovering HP and healing negative status effects.
Depending on what type of Servans you take with you, the playstyle will vary. Theyāll also level as they continue fighting alongside Arnath, and will begin to show more of their characteristics on the battlefield as they become stronger.
Land of No Night will release in Japan on August 27, 2015 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita.
