Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn isn’t a fighting game, but what if it were? The game’s main scenario writer Kazutoyo Maehiro created the video you see below to show off what that might look like.

While the video looks cool, Square Enix have pointed out very clearly that there are no plans for any sort of fighting game content to be added to Final Fantasy XIV. The next major update to the game will be the release of its Heavensward expansion.

 

Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward will be released on June 23rd worldwide.
