Fatal Frame: The Black-Haired Shrine Maiden Coming West This Year

Fatal Frame: The Black-Haired Shrine Maiden is headed to North America and Europe. Nintendo announced the game during an ongoing Nintendo Direct presentation this afternoon.

The new Fatal Frame uses the Wii U GamePad as the Camera Obscura, which can be used to see things that normally can’t be seen. You’ll use it to search for hidden objects or the ghosts of people in the game.

The game also has a mode that allows the player to play as Ayane from the Dead or Alive series in her own separate story. Ayane is seeking out a girl that fled to the mountains after a failed suicide attempt, and this mode plays out like a stealth game.

Fatal Frame: The Black-Haired Shrine Maiden will be available this year.
