Japanese Mech Shoot ‘Em Up Dagekio Flies Towards A PC Launch

Recommended Videos

Japanese studio LukPlus has put its colorful mech shoot ‘em up Dagekio up on Steam Greenlight in advance of its upcoming launch.

You’re given two weapons to dispatch of the relentless robotic foe that hunts down your mech: shooting, and a short-range bat. Shooting is front-facing only, and pretty self-explanatory, an so the more interesting attack is the bat.

The bat can be swung to dish out large damage but, obviously, comes with the risk of having to get up close to the enemies. It can also be used to hit shots back at enemies, known as a counter-shot, which acts as both a means of attack as well as defense due to clearing a path for the mech to move through the bullets.

Apparently, using this counter-shot technique is vital to overcoming the bigger boss enemies across the game’s four stages. Speaking of which, these stages switch perspectives dynamically throughout, from top-down to putting the camera behind the mech as it moves through space stations, asteroid fields, and bright skies of deserted planets.

You can see a footage of Dagekio in action above. More screenshots from the game are below.
