The New Nintendo 3DS will launch in North America and Europe this February, Nintendo announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation this morning. While Europe will get both the XL and regular models, North America will only get the XL model.
As detailed in past reports, the New Nintendo 3DS has more stable stereoscopic 3D, a second stick that can be used in games like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and more powerful hardware than the regular 3DS.
The regular-sized model of the New Nintendo 3DS also has the ability for users to use custom faceplates that can be swapped in and out to allow owners to customize the look of their system. The XL model does not have this feature.
Both North America and Europe will get the device on February 13th. It will cost $199.99 in North America, and will not come with an AC adapter. (Although, it will be compatible with the DSi and 3DS’s adapter.) More details on the device from our coverage of its announcement in Japan last year can be found here.
