Team Ninja say that future downloadable content for Dead or Alive: Last Round may not be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, due to “hardware capacity” limitations. In a post to the game’s Facebook, the developer stated:

Due to hardware capacity, we are approaching the limit of the additional downloadable content we can offer for PS3/Xbox 360. There is a possibility that new content will not be availalbe for those platforms in the future. We are currently looking into the limits and will inform you as soon as we have more information.

There should be no issues transferring any downloadable content for “DOA5 Ultimate” to “DOA5 Last Round”.

In the comments below their post, Team Ninja clarified that they are not referring to hard disk constraints. The studio stated: “We will keep supporting last gen consoles for sure, but there is possibility and we can not go over the hardware capacity and capability. We are not saying your PS3 or Xbox 360 HDD capacity remaining. We will keep you posted.”

As previously reported, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Last Round are also missing the new stages from the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the. In addition to this, the last-gen versions will also not include the new hairstyles and Costume Options screen, which allow you to customize and preview your character’s appearance. At the time, Team Ninja cited hardware limitations as the cause.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round will be released for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 this February.
