Queen Victoria Blasts Through Martian Mines In Rock Boshers DX On PS4, PS Vita

Tikipod has released Rock Boshers DX: Director’s Cut for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita with cross-buy and cross-save support. It’s an 8-directional twin-stick puzzle-shooter set on Mars in the 1880s and stars a young Queen Victoria.

Your mission is to blast your way through the Martian mines you’ve been imprisoned in, using a gun, as well as bigger weapons such as steam lasers and coal rockets. You’ll be fighting against armed guards, zombies, Martian creatures, and dangerous drilling equipment.

You’ll notice right away that it’s stylized as if it were being played on a ZX Spectrum. In fact, it even begins with the Speccy’s start-up screen and that horrible machine noise. Oh, what we used to have to endure to play video games.

Anyway, Rock Boshers DX is actually a PS Mobile title originally. This Director’s Cut puts the game in a widescreen format, and adds HD 1080p visuals, plus on PS4 and it is 4K resolution ready.

The PS4 version also gets extra exclusive content. The 4-player battle mode lets you play as either Victoria, Darwin, Ada Lovelace, or Lewis Carrol in a number of local multiplayer fighting arenas.

Finally, it would be remiss to not mention the game’s British pastiche. Yep, if you collect tea, cheese, and jammy scones in each level you’ll unlock extra arcade mini-games to play outside of the main game.
