Ni-Oh Is “Starting To Come Together” Says Team Ninja

Back in 2012, Koei Tecmo said that Ni-Oh, an action game originally announced in 2005, was finally making progress. After its announcement, Ni-Oh was put on hold, then resumed development at Team Ninja, the studio in charge of Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden. In 2012, Koei Tecmo said that Ni-Oh was in an alpha stage, but information on the game was still scarce, and very little was said about it afterward.

While speaking with VentureBeat recently about Dead or Alive, Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi confirmed that Ni-Oh is still in development and hasn’t been cancelled.

“I have heard rumors that it’s been stopped, but it’s actually very much in development,” Hayashi said. “We still need a little time before showing it off, but it is starting to come together and feel good. You should definitely keep an eye out for it in the future.”
