Take On The Monsters Of Yomi In Onikira: Demon Killer, Now On Steam Early Access

Digital Furnace Games has released its 2D hack ‘n’ slash action game Onikira: Demon Killer on Steam Early Access.

The current Early Access build lets you try out the first two levels, all four weapons, over 50 moves, as well as tackle five different enemies, and take on the first boss battle.

You may remember that Siliconera spoke to Digital Furnace previously about how it has translated the combo-heavy fighting of 3D beat ‘em ups to a 2D battlefield.

Onikira lets you fight across a fantasy take on feudal Japan as Yamazaki Jiro, who is trying to fight back the forces of the Japanese underworld, Yomi, so that it doesn’t break into the world of the living.

The game is designed to allow for players to decide to play a more cautious game relying on ranged battling, or a more risky and heavy-handed button-mashing fighting style with heavy weapons. Environments can also be used in combat to your advantage, such as hitting bell gongs into enemies, pushing them into lava and spike pits, pulling buildings on to them, and blowing up explosive barrels.

You can purchase Onikira: Demon Killer on Steam Early Access for $9.99 right now.
