Sega’s smartphone RPG, Chain Chronicle, is seeing an English release in the U.S. and other regions on iOS and Android devices. The English release of the game is a collaboration between Sega Networks and Gumi Asia, will begin rolling out on December 8th, starting with the U.S.

Chain Chronicle is described as a “line-defense RPG”. You control five units and have them defend a base against waves of enemies. Once you’ve set your party up, they’re placed on a 3×3 grid, and have to face off against enemy units, preventing them from reaching the defense line. You can move your units outside of the grid and around the field in order to engage enemies, and your units will attack automatically.

Units also have Special Skills, which are class-based and can consist of offensive attacks or buffs. You can chain Special Skills from different units together by using them consecutively, and this will add a boost to whatever effect it is that they have. Chain Chronicle lets you select from Soldier, Knight, Archer, Wizard and Cleric classes.
