If you’re in the mood for something Metal Slugs-inspired then you’ll be glad to find out that Orange Pixel has released a Windows, Mac, and Linux demo for its 2D run-and-gunner Gunslugs 2.
You can download the demo on IndieDB, but it does require Java to run, so if you’re on Windows 8 you’ll have to download that if you haven’t already as it doesn’t come pre-installed.
This demo gives you a look at the opening scene and the first world, including its end boss. It includes a train crash, which Orange Pixel says is typical of the explosive action you can expect from the full game.
The demo does support gamepads but not all of them. That said, if you’re fine with using the keyboard then you’ll have no issues.
Gunslugs 2 will be released on PC, iOS, and Android either at the end of the year or in early 2015. You can find out more on its website and vote for it on Steam Greenlight.
