Wild Season has been confirmed for a release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One in 2015, as well as previously announced platforms.
The game is inspired by Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, Rune Factory and Thousand Arms. It involves restarting your life on a farm from scratch, and having to win over the locals in a town that seems unwelcoming.
You repair and expand the farm, growing crops and raising animals to sell them on for a profit. But this is a game about relationships as much as it is about farming, so you can also make friends, go on dates, get married, create enemies, and discover the town’s deep dark secret.
Wild Season was successfully funded on Kickstarter in December 2013. At the time it was confirmed for a release on iOS, Android, Ouya, Windows, Mac, and Linux. A PlayStation Vita and Wii U release were described as being tentative.
Now the game has also been confirmed for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox One. So it seems that the Wii U version isn’t going to happen after all. The development team has also shown interest in a 3DS version of Wild Season.
You can currently pre-order Wild Season on its website for Windows, Mac, Linux, or Android. It costs $26.99 and comes with beta access, a PDF manual, and pre-order DLC. There’s also a Special Edition pre-order at $36.99 that adds an extended PDF manual and the soundtrack to the package.
