Ray’s The Dead Is Like Pikmin With Zombies, Confirmed For Vita

Ragtag Studio has confirmed that its PS4 and PC zombie-themed action-adventure Ray’s The Dead will be coming to PlayStation Vita.

Ray’s The Dead is a cartoon zombie adventure set in the 1980s that follows the dual-narrative of the recently undead Ray as he investigates the events that led to his death, as well as the mysterious device lodged into his brain.

It’s a tale that involves turning enemies into new zombie friends so you can use their various abilities to fight and solve puzzles. Ragtag compares this to Pikmin and Overlord’s minion mechanics, so expect tactical combat rather than to get stuck in with close-up zombie clawing.

Ray’s The Dead’s offbeat humor may remind you of the older zombie title Stubbs The Zombie. That’s no coincidence. Ray’s The Dead is being created by people who previously worked on Stubbs, as well as Halo Wars and Thief: Deadly Shadows.

Ray’s The Dead is currently on Kickstarter where Ragtag has already obtained its funding goal of $30,000. There is, however, an “enhanced Vita and PlayStation TV” stretch goal yet to be reached at $55,000. If you’d like to see the game on Wii U then you’ll have to hope that the $65,000 stretch goal is reached.

If you pledge $15 towards the game on Kickstarter you can secure yourself a copy on Windows, Mac, and Linux, or you can opt for the PS4 version – that’s $5 less than the game’s $20 launch price. More information on Ray’s The Dead is available on its website.
