The Pokémon Amie mini-game is back in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, The Pokémon Company announced this morning. Like in the previous pair of games, Pokémon Amie will allow you to pet, feed and play with your Pokémon, which will result in them receiving performance boosts in battle.
Additionally, the two new games will have a “Cosplay Pikachu” Pokémon, who you’ll encounter in five varieties—Pikachu Rock Star, Pikachu Belle, Pikachu Pop Star, Pikachu Ph.D., and Pikachu Libre. They have a connection to some sort of Contest Hall, and you’ll also be able to interact with them in Pokémon Amie.
Finally, a Diancie distribution event has been announced for the U.S., and will take place sometime this Fall. Diancie will be distributed through GameStop and if you transfer it to Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve it.
Mega Diancie will gain the Magic Bounce Ability, which makes any status condition or stat-lowering effect reflect back at the Pokémon trying to inflict it. Once Diancie has Mega Evolved, it will see boosts to its Attack and Sp. Atk, and a reduction to its Defense and Sp. Def.
The stat alterations upon Mega Evolution are meant to help Mega Diancie with attacks such as Diamond Storm and Moon Blast.
