Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed Coming To North America This Summer

Xseed are bringing Akiba’s Trip 2 to North America, under the title Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed. The game will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Vita this Summer.

In the game, you’re trying to repel a “brooding malevolence” that has infested Tokyo’s popular electronics district, Akihabara. The district has been invaded by “Synthisters,” creatures who prey on Akiba’s otaku like vampires, feasting on their will to live and energy to socialize. (There’s a joke here, but I’m not making it.)

Like regular vampires, though, the Synthisters are weak against sunlight, so you’ll need to identify which of the normal-looking humans are Synthisters with the help of an in-game smartphone app, and… strip them of their clothing to expose them to the sun. Once you’ve taken their clothes, you can use them for yourself.

Here’s a story summary for the game from Xseed:

Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed tells the story of a young man named Nanashi who was lured into a trap and transformed into one of the walking undead. Lucky enough to be spared the worst of his fate by the kiss of a mysterious Synthister hunter named Shizuku, Nanashi is sworn to rid Akihabara of the Synthister threat. Together with the rest of his companions in an organization unofficially dubbed the “Akiba Freedom Fighters,” Nanashi and Shizuku must uncover the truth behind the Synthister plague and save Akiba from being overrun by their kind.

Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Vita this Summer.
