By Every kid has probably heard at some point in their life the admonishment to “never wave around sharp objects”. Clearly, the Samurai Warriors 4 folks don’t believe in this at all. From chain-blade hula-hoops to massive megagreatswords, the latest batch of characters seem to enjoy big weaponry and bigger effects… Check em out below.
Oichi:
Have you ever tried playing with a hula-hoop? Oichi has, and she’s turned it into an art. The weapon practically sings in her hands, and swinging it around in giant arcs around her only leads to mass eviscerations that might have served to be the inspiration for barbed wire as we know it today.
Nagamasa Azai:
His wife is Oichi, one of Oda Nobunaga’s younger sisters who married into Nagamasa’s family with a political marriage. Despite this, many believe the two truly fell in love with one another. True or not, and despite this, Nagamasa does ride to the aid of the Asakura’s who are his allies when invaded by Nobunaga. There’s an urban legend that his is one of the skulls that were preserved for Nobunaga to drink out of. Whatever the truth, the man’s got a spear he wields with aplomb and a speed that’s impossible to follow.
Uesugi Kagekatsu:
Look, who cares if he’s the adopted son of Uesugi Kenshin? The dude has two hugeass Buster swords that he whirls around like chainsaws by himself IN EACH HAND. And which generate enough power it can blow a scar right through the earth. How did olden day wooden bulwarks stand up to such men? Who knows, we’re too busy laughing and running around the battlefield spinning our swords.
Takatora Todo:
The man’s got a blade of ice that constantly gives off a cooling mist and access to plenty of ice-based attacks. Who needs a gigantic hammer or an arrow-gun if ice does everything for you?
Samurai Warriors 4 will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Vita March 20th in Japan.
