It would appear that Nintendo have plans to bring Tomodachi Collection—or “Friend Collection,” if you prefer—to the west.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the company is in the process of deciding “what needs to be scrapped for its overseas launch of Tomodachi Collection” in an effort to better localize the game for western markets.
Tomodachi Collection is a life-simulation game where you live in an apartment building populated by Miis and they can interact with one another in interesting ways. To put things in perspective, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, too, contains certain distinct features in North America, Europe and Japan to tailor it to those specific regions.
Nintendo have not yet officially announced Tomodachi Collection for a U.S. release, although Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime also shared once that a western release for the game was being considered.
We’ve gotten in touch with Nintendo for comment and will update when we hear back.
