Phantasy Star Online 2 is getting a weapon-crafting system, Sega revealed during a livestream event on Nico Nico Douga this past weekend. The feature will allow players to power up their low-ranking weapons and units, reports the PSU Blog.
Titled Weapon Extend, the system works on 1 to 10-star items. One example demonstrated during Sega reveal of the feature was a Vita Sword, which normally has 376 –ATK, upgraded to 1,017 S-ATK. Weapon extensions can be acquired by paying Meseta, PA Fragments and certain ingredients.
It appears as though the crafting system is always guaranteed to succeed, but in some cases, it may also “greatly succeed,” in which case additional bonuses will be conferred upon the item. For instance, instead of simply having its stats altered, a weapon may also be equippable by multiple classes after greatly succeeding at extension.
In addition to being able to craft items yourself, you’ll also be able to commission other players to raft for you, in the event that you don’t have the recipe necessary for the item you’d like to craft. The game’s Visiphone feature will allow you to search for other crafters and whatever recipes they have available. You then need to provide the crafter with the materials, Meseta and the weapon you wish to have crafted.
