At the SCEJA press conference held earlier today, Kadokawa Games revealed the first footage of their PS Vita rhythm action game based on the Love Live! School Idol Project franchise.
Titled Love Live! School Idol Paradise, the game will be released in May 2014 and come in three installments: Printemps (Honoka, Kotori, and Hanayo), BiBi (Eli, Nico, and Maki), and Lily White (Umi, Rin, and Nozomi). Each one is named after a sub-unit of the idol group μ’s (“muse”) and will also come in a limited edition package including three petite nendoroids.
The Love Live! franchise first started as a project by Dengeki G’s Magazine, the music publisher Lantis, and the animation studio Sunrise. The companies released 16 singles and 5 music videos before the anime aired in January 2013 and its popularity exploded.
School Idol Paradise was first announced in June at Love Live‘s third anniversary concert, where they also announced the second season of the anime, coming next spring, and their fourth concert, scheduled to be held in Saitama Super Arena on February 8-9. The game is being developed by Dingo, who is also responsible for the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva games.
Although a western release has not been confirmed for School Idol Paradise, the Love Live! anime has been licensed by NIS America. The members of μ’s also served as the voice actresses of Nippon Ichi Software’s dungeon crawling RPG The Guided Fate Paradox.
