Toukiden is getting a prequel manga, according to a Comic Natalie report translated by ANN. The manga will take place several years before the game’s story begins.
As previously reported, Toukiden takes place in a world where a great disaster caused a split in the heavens and earth, and resulted in an invasion of demons. A group of people called Mononofu then rose up to defend the land against these demons, and have been battling them over 1,000 years.
The prequel manga, titled Toukiden Woniuchi, will be available as an e-book on Sony’s Reader Store starting this Wednesday, and is being authored and drawn by Urasuke Ayano. Five chapters are planned over the course of five months.
Toukiden will be available in Japan this Thursday for the PSP and Vita. The game is headed to North America and Europe in late 2013 on the Vita.
