<< Last week’s software sales chart

Last week, Capcom released Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen in Japan. The game debuted at the #2 spot on the top-20 software sales chart, with 125,363 copies sold.

Meanwhile, Tomodachi Collection: New Life maintained its #1 spot with an additional 145,000 copies sold, bringing total retail sales to nearly 550,000 copies. Total sales, including download copies, however, are higher.

In a financial results Q&A, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata stated that download sales of Tomodachi Collection: New Life were at about 10% after its launch week. Iwata also shared that Nintendo are noticing a trend where 3DS users that purchase a game via download choose to do the same again with their next purchase. This trend is noticeable in the case of Animal Crossing: New Leaf. A number of consumers that purchased New Leaf as a download went on to do the same with Tomodachi Collection.

Also released last week in Japan was the new Tomb Raider. That game sold 35,250 copies and was very closely followed by Steins;Gate: Linear Bounded Phenogram, which sold 34,292 copies.

The top-20 chart for the week was as follows:
