Nintendo Hope To Sell 5.5 Million Wii U Consoles By March 31st

With the Nintendo 3DS not performing as well as expected outside Japan, and their annual profit forecast slashed in half, Nintendo will have to turn to the Wii U to help turn their fortunes around by the end of this financial year.

 

This morning, Nintendo announced that they hope to sell 5.5 million Wii U consoles and and 24 million units of  Wii U software by March 31st, 2013. This is the first time that Nintendo have announced a sales target for the system.

 

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Nintendo’s sales forecast for the Nintendo 3DS is being lowered from 18.5 million to 17.5 million for the financial year.
