This morning, Tecmo Koei released the first footage of Dead or Alive 5’s new character, Rig (watch it here), along with a confirmation of Photo Mode, which allows you to take screenshots during fights. They also released a few new screenshots of Rig, Christie and Bass.
As previously reported, Rig is a fighter who can’t recall his real name or where he’s from. His name comes from working in the oil rig from a young age, a place that he now calls his home. Rig is a taekwondo master who mixes the martial art with his own style of fighting.
In contrast, Bass, who returns from the previous games, is a former world wrestling champion. Bass uses different kinds of throws and is described as a “brute force” character. The fight between him and Rig in the new trailer and screenshots takes place on a stage known as “Fuel”. It’s set on an off-shore oil platform and has three areas, separated by breakable floors and railings. Stage hazards include oil tanks and pipes that explode on contact.
