Idolm@ster: Shiny Festa Rhythm Game Uses Music Videos As A Backdrop

Recommended Videos

This past week, Namco Bandai announced a trio of Idolm@ster games—Honey Sound, Funky Note and Groovy Tune. These games are actually three different versions of the same title: Idolm@ster: Shiny Festa. As previously reported, each one will have a different set of idols exclusive to it.

Unlike the prior Idolm@ster titles, Shiny Festa is a rhythm game with music videos serving as the backdrop. Namco Bandai also pulled scenes from the Idolm@ster anime to play through. In addition to these, you’ll also play through band performances and dramatic sequences, all using video footage.

Idolm@ster: Shiny Festa appears to play like a regular rhythm game. You need to press buttons timed to when notes pass over the yellow circle in the centre of the screen (see above). Namco Bandai haven’t announced a release date for the game yet. You can find more screenshots of the game at the Famitsu.com link above.
