Here’s How Character Switching In Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance Works

Recommended Videos

Famitsu.com have more information on Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, including how the game constantly switches you between Sora and Riku. This is one of the earliest features that Square Enix ever revealed about Kingdom Hearts 3D.

The change is triggered by a “Drop Gauge,” displayed on the lower-right corner of the Nintendo 3DS’ upper screen (see above). The gauge depletes over time, and once it empties out entirely, you switch from your current character to the other.

The game also has “Drop Prizes” that convert into points during the time of the switch. These can be used to temporarily boost the abilities of the character you switched to, and to give them new commands as well.

As previously reported, you can also synthesize Dream Eaters and give them new abilities as well, by following recipes and combining Dream Pieces. Famitsu have screens of this process and of the Tron: Legacy world, The Grid, as well.
