The Closed Mega Show clip from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days focused on two things fluid four player co-op and Xion, a female member of Organization XIII introduced in the Roxas’ story. She’s buddies with Roxas and Axel, but near the end of the trailer Xion turns antagonistic. There is a memorable scene from Destiny Islands with Roxas, Axel, and Xion sitting on a tree similar to Sora, Riku, and Kairi too.
The trailer ended with a downer for anyone expecting the game to come out this year. When Square Enix said “this winter” they meant February 2009 for Japan. Technically, it’s still “this winter”, but Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days won’t come out anywhere this year. A North American release date still hasn’t been announced. We’ll just have to be content with Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories in the meantime.
