Those who recall Atlus USA’s recent “G-game” teases will remember that there were in fact two titles beginning with a “G” that they intend to publish. One of these was Gungnir. The other was speculated to be Growlanser IV: Over Reloaded, an updated PSP port of Growlanser IV: Wayfarer of Time.
Recently, EB Games Canada put up a listing for Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time for PSP, along with box art, with Atlus USA listed as publisher. Additionally, the product details summarize the contents of the game:
New characters, scenarios, and events are complemented by a host of visual and technical improvements, dramatically improved loading times, and a message skip option that lets players rapidly advance the story.
Players can spend time getting to know the characters in their party, even going on a vacation with them apart from the game’s main quest. It isn’t simply a way to learn more about them and their motivations; unlocking the games 40+ possible endings requires players to make choices about who they will bond with.
40+ endings? Vacations? New events? Yup, that sounds like Growlanser IV: Over Reloaded to us, just under a different title. EB have it listed for release on July 24th, 2012, but that date may not be entirely correct. We’ll have to wait for confirmation from Atlus USA.
