Will Resident Evil: Revelations Get A Nintendo eShop Demo?

The answer is “maybe”. Capcom’s Christian Svensson thinks it’s a good idea, but there are restrictions in place that would need to be sorted out with Nintendo in order for it to happen. Replying to a Capcom forum user who asked about seeing the game’s E3 or TGS demo builds on the eShop, Svensson shared:

“We’re in talks with Nintendo about that and I agree, I think that would help sales a lot. For that to happen we need to get permission to use a larger filesize than demos currently are allowed.”

The ability to provide demos for Nintendo 3DS games over the Nintendo eShop will be available to publishers in November. While Svensson doesn’t provide details regarding just how large a Resident Evil: Revelations demo build would be, the full game will come on a 4GB Nintendo 3DS cartridge.

Resident Evil: Revelations also supports the Circle Pad add-on for 3DS. While Svensson clarified that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will not be updated to support the add-on, other upcoming 3DS games from Capcom — that he can’t discuss yet — will make use of it.
